My 98yr old Grandpa just called. Spoke to him on the phone for over an hour. He still lives in a house he built for his family, still drives, still swims early most mornings and still has his own teeth!! Can STILL talk my ear off! Hes Scottish and was part of the Black Watch (3rd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland) He spoke the Brogue. He loved his wife more than life itself. Shes been gone for many years now and his favourite moments are when he dreams of her. He wakes wishing she was still there next to him. He visited her everyday for many years after she had a stroke and was placed in a nursing home. Her birthday is in 5days. He was by her side ALL THE WAY! We ended our conversation with him telling me he just wants to see me happy with a family of my own. That I deserve the love he gave my Grandma even if she drove me insane he said :). He has a sense of humour, his patience for life is waning but hes the strongest man Ive known. A decent man. I hope he hits the century and kicks on. Grandparents are precious x
