My Andrae Crouch experience. My dad played for him quite a bit. My dad built two really nice custom hammond chop down organs. One for the great Jimmy Smith (his mentor and friend) and Pastor Andrae. They each had a gold plaque engraved on them. In 1996, when I took ill, had two seizures, even stopped breathing in ICU, Andrae sent a video message speaking forth my healing. You see, I was just starting undergrad at Berkeley and diagnosed with encephalitis (brain injury). About two years later, I saw Andrae in concert and he welcomed me back stage and was happy to see me alive and well. Fastforward to 2010, I played an organ solo during my fathers funeral. Andrae was there. I went to the back of the church where he and Pastor Sandra Crouch were preparing to leave. He THANKED ME for adding a chorus of My Tribute to the end of the solo and said he was blessed by it despite the bad news. He also told me that his favorite producer to work with is Donald Lawrence. But the most memorable experience was listening to his My Tribute compilation album while driving home in the family Datsun Z (no power steering). I was overcome with Gods spirit and had to pull over. His music I will never forget and teach to my girls. In fact, this is one of the songs we sing before bed: RIP Pastor Andrae. https://youtube/watch?v=NflCoYmoStM
