My Anniversary. Six yeas ago, I made a conscious decision to break away from the monotony of my comfortable city life, with its comfortable salary and comfortable routine and all the chains that come with that lifestyle and rhythm. Ive gone down an exciting path that has brought a flood of new people and new lessons and I have loved it all. It has brought its own challenges, as being self employed requires you to be self motivated, be both a dreamer and a realist, be both socially extrovert and dedicated to the minutia. I cant afford everything I want anymore, including a visit to the dentist. But I have more free time to do the things I love, that happen to be free. And it all feels more true to the rhythm of the natural world than anything Ive known before. My summers are spent outside, in a whirlwind of travel and excitement, with little sleep, with hundreds and hundreds of new smiling faces; this is what I thrive on. Winters are spent indoors and in my head, quietly revisiting all the images from all those summer days, creating custom albums and prints; this is the recovery time I need that I would never ever give myself intentionally. This way of life is invigorating. This flow with the seasons feels incredible, especially for a girl coming from a place with relatively no seasonal change. January is when I mentally prepare to do it all over again. Evaluate the lessons of the previous year and restructure my policies and expectations accordingly. 2014 had its own set of challenges that involved moving 3 times in support the life changes of a partner. Nothing dramatic, just distracting. But overall, it was a great year. I witnessed 19 love stories in 6 states, 1 territory, and 1 in Mexico. I traveled through 5 additional states en route, slept on countless couches, slept in my car 8 times and drove through the night twice. I saw multiple oceans, mountains, forests, vineyards, meadows, and cities all in the name of love. Thank you thank you, to all those who have supported me, friends and clients alike. 2015 brings a sense of stability and permanence. I am loving my path. Now lets get started!
