My Aunt Vivian was the unofficial sitter-upper for sick folks in the community of Jigger, La..... Bless her Heart. whenever some fambly-member or good friend got down ill, she was the First one there by their bed-side. You didnt have to ask her. Soon as she heard you were feelin right-poorly shed hitch up her skirts and be by your bedside pronto. I know for a fack that my own poor Mama stayed pretty-well un-well most of the time. She spent her share of time, at the time, at the Charity hospital in Monroe. Aunt Vivians husband usually had an old rattle-trap of a pickup truck, so hed drive Aunt Vivian up to Monroe to sit with the Sick. And she didnt just zip up there, check on my Mama, then zip right back home again. When Aunt Vivian went, she always took her pillow with her so she could nod off in a chair while the sick person slept peacefully...Aunt Vivian died a few years back. Sometimes, Ill get me a lawn chair and go sit by her grave-site. Just tryin to kinda pay her back for all the sitting-ups she done in her life...
