My Baby ( Janie Acevedo Beauchamp ) and I bought a portable - TopicsExpress

My Baby ( Janie Acevedo Beauchamp ) and I bought a portable basketball goal for Jillian Acevedos son Jax, for Christmas. The instructions said to fill the base with sand or water, sand being the proffered method. I was concerned with the water evaporating and the goal falling on a child. Or freezing during a longer cold spell and splitting the base. So I went with sand. The instructions said to pour the sand in through a funnel, so off I go to buy 400 lbs of play sand. Needed 385 lbs. And wanted a fine sand to make pouring it easier. Then I pull the base out of the box to discover the two openings for the sand were only about an inch in diameter. There is no way that sand was going to pour through that small of a funnel, it just clogs up and has to be pushed through with a stick, very awkward and time consuming. After a few trial and error methods that werent any better, I ended up sitting in a chair, leaning over an open bag of sand laying in front ot the hole pushing the sand in, for three afternoons. Probably close to eighteen hours. Finished finally, thank God! 😩😩😩 If you ever have to do this, it might help if you have a place to spread the sand out to let it completely dry for a day or two, I didnt. The sand comes out of the bag slightly moist, just enough to make it stick together. Jill if Jax doesnt shoot hoops daily for at least a year, I may have to hurt him. 😈😈 Just kidding! 😂😂😂😂
