My Bible verse for today.Matthew 14:22-33. “Faith overcome fear”.At the heart of this story is Jesus majestic message to cowering believers.In response,the disciples worship him and make this Gospel’s first confession of Faith. Haven’t we all played Peter’s role in this story?We are at times capable of bold ventures in response to Christ’s commands,for those he calls he empowers.Yet,as we gain experience in Christian living,we develop the wisdom to understand that we cannot sustain faith on our own.*We know well Petr’s awful singking feeling.*We have been in over our heads.*The icy fingers of fear have tightened around our hearts.*Cries for help have emanated from the depths of our being. To those who Trust HIM,Jesus gives a share of his power. To those singking in doubt,he offers promp assistance... “Lord,pls enable us to recognize your voice even when thunder rumbles and winds howl.Empower us to trust you in courageous ventures of FAITH,and rescue us when we doubt. Amen.
