My Bio in case you are interested in my credentials. Imagine Acting Studios founding director Michael Gonza brings more than 20 years of experience to his classroom. After earning a BFA degree in acting from Salem State University in 1995, Michael performed in several Boston area theatres, including Boston Playwrights Theatre, Our Theatre, Speak Easy Stage Company, Theatre One, and Devanaughn Theatre. Film credit include the independent films Inside, This Killing Biz, and Nickel & Dime During this time he studied privately for two years with Ted Kazanoff, longtime head of the Brandeis theatre department and successful television actor. He then trained in Meisner and Chekhov for one year with Scott Fielding at the Michael Chekhov Actors Studio Boston. More recently, Michael spent a year at the Ruskin School of Acting in LA with John Ruskin, who apprenticed with Sanford Meisner. There he also participated in master classes with Ed Asner, Bruce Davidson, and Paul Sands. LA stage credits include John in An Expected Ending and Father In the Coin, both with Ruskin Group Theatre Company. In 2013, Michael moved to New York to study for a year with Joe Paradise, former teacher of James Gandolfini. NY stage credits include Dr. Faustus in Wittenberg at the Little Times Square Theatre. Michael returned to Boston in 2014 to found Imagine Acting Studio which emphasizes the techniques developed by Constantin Stanislavski and Sanford Meisner. He continues to train as an actor, committed to the proposition that learning and artistic development never end.
