My Brother and I had THE BEST TIME! with Aldo, and his Suntan Villa Marathon! Our two nights spent here were the highlight of our week long Southwest Florida road trip adventure. When I came back to tell friends and coworkers about our trip, they were all mystified by this portion of our trip and needed to see pictures. Unfortunately for them, I didnt really have much to visually share because we were having so much fun relaxing, kayaking, sunning, swimming, eating, drinking, and just enjoying time together. We made sure to stop and get some supplies in local Marathon, before meeting up with Aldo. Aldo and his volunteers greeted us shortly after checking in and showed us the house, and explained to us everything we might need to know for our experience. The house had all the essentials to get us started. However, my true highlight of this stay was the KAYAK! Neither my brother or I had kayaked before so we thought to give it a try and fell in love with the experience. We explored for over 6 hours that one day! We went all over into the nooks and crannies around the bay and channels. We even found some hidden mangrove mazes which we had to slowly float through, mainly using our hands to get by in the tight trails. We saw little crabs running up tree limbs, starfish attached stones as we glided by, and upside down jellyfish swirling in the water as we paddled. All this while protected under a leafy green canopy made this seem like something out of the aquatic version of Alice in Wonderland. Finally exhausted, we stopped off at a waterside bar for some evening cocktails, snacks, and local mingling! This trip inspired us to do more, see more, and continue to live life to the fullest. We loved Suntan Villa Marathon, and will never forget this trip. Thanks John and Nate!
