My "Bullshit among the brotherhood" post last night raised a few eyebrows and maybe a few feathers too. I want to clarify that my post is not directed towards any one individual, any one department or any group of departments. No longer being a part of active service, it is not my place to make any judgements. It was only intended to say that the only unfortunate or negative thing I find among us all is the day to day bullshit that goes on. I am pretty sure that every department in this country or even the entire world experience a pretty heavy presence of bullshit. The post, in fact, was meant to be a positive post more than a negative one. Even with the daily bullshit, I have always been proud to say that the brotherhood pulls together strong at the time the bell rings. I have been out of active service for better than 20 years but still have ties in the service and have recently seen that the bullshit still exists but also see that our "brotherhood" remains stronger than that. This past weekend hanging out with the men and ladies of HFFD brought back the pride that I had all those years ago being a member of the department. I, in no way, intended to offend anyone.
