My Catholic friends continue to tell me the Church would never go into error...??? Wow..Really..?? What does the Word of God say..??? Why then do the Scriptures foretell of this apostasy, that Catholics continue to ignore...?? The apostles had much to say in the way of comforting and exhorting the believers. They also had much to say in the way of admonishing the believers and warning us of the perilous times that would shortly come to pass. They warned of the false teachers and false apostles and the strong delusion that would deceive many. The apostles Paul, Peter, John and Jude wrote the following warnings concerning the deception that was already beginning to manifest itself in the churches: Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats,” (I Timothy 4:1-3) “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” (II Timothy 4:3,4) “Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write;.. I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my names sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works;” (Revelation 2:1-5) “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them [the “unbloody sacrifice” of “The Mass” essentially denies the all-sufficient one sacrifice for sins forever accomplished by Jesus Christ on the cross; see also Denying Jesus Christ is Come in the Flesh], and bring upon themselves swift destruction. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.” (II Peter 2:1,2) “Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.” (Jude 1:3,4) GODS WORD OVERWHELMINGLY WARNS OF THE APOSTASY THAT WAS TO COME AND HAS ALREADY HAPPENED...
