My Christmas present from my niece Brittany Bates, to be opened last! She made me a beautiful Shadow Box of Kenny! When I opened it I completely lost it. I never dreamed of getting something so special and made with so much thought and love put into it. And then little Ashton walked over and hugged me and asked me if I was OK. I cried even harder. Words from a five year old! The roses are also from his funeral spray. Some of the photos were taken two weeks before he died and during his illness. The others during happier times. You never saw Kenny without his Earnhardt hats on, whether it be Dale Sr. or Dale Jr. But he loved this hat brought to him by our best friend Sherry Townsend while on the road. This is the hat he wore up until he passed away. The day before he died and he was so confused and couldnt get out of bed he wanted his hat because he was going to ride up to the lake. Shirley walked over to the dresser and got his hat and put it on him and he laid back down. I am so emotional today because I have had such a sad but very good Christmas. Im very blessed to have such a loving and thoughtful family! No more sad posts I promise!
