My DC/MD/VA friends may laugh at this. Im sitting in a Manhattan restaurant, and theres a group of young folks next to me who seem to know each other from college in DC, talking about how everyone in the world is such a dumbass because they dont know when they say The Mall, they mean the national mall. Then about how cool they came off at their five year high school reunion. Then they launched into a discussion on how awesome The Olive Garden is (great for DC but we do not utter those words here), how the cherry blossom festival is all tourist BS, but then how great the Adams Morgan club scene is. (Oops, your DC transplant card is showing) And one guy said Ugh, Im just such a jaded Washingtonian! And that was when I laughed out loud, and they noticed, and I winked. You kids are really cute, but you are nowhere near jaded, and not in the place to tout your jadedness. Kind of cute, except how seriously they are taking themselves.
