My Dad, Paul F Dammeyer was born Easter Sunday April 12, 1914. In honor of what would have been his 100th Birthday, I would like to post some pictures and keep his memory alive for the fine human being he was. A devoted family man, father of five, who loved his country his village and of course OSU. In 1939 he and mother along with baby daughter Janice went to Columbus. Dad attended college and mother and he ran a boarding house on West 11th Street. He graduated in June 1943 with no debt. They purchased from Myron Boise 521 Herrick East in 1947. He worked for North Ohio Breeders Assn for 36 yrs. He was an active member of the Wellington Community. He was a Kiwanis member, was on the Wellington Hospital Board & the committee to help get a student studying to become a doctor to contract coming to practice in Wellington upon graduation in exchange for paying off some student loan. The one picture posted is of E. L. Henes (editor & owner of The Wellington Enterprise) and Dad burning a $135,000 note at a Wellington Hospital meeting in 1965. He served on the Wellington Board of Education. He was the first recipient of the Dairy Service Award presented at the Lorain County Dairy Banquet. He loved fishing and gardening. He was a true gentleman and an outstanding roll model. Thank you dad. Love and miss you, your baby daughter .(P. S. Dear sister Janice, our family historian, please jump in with any pictures, corrections, or additions, I would love to save some of your pics to my sd card!. I bet others would too!)
