My Dad has been given the gift of life after death to be looked - TopicsExpress

My Dad has been given the gift of life after death to be looked over and cared for by the Lord Jesus Christ. This will be my first Christmas Holiday without a parent and just maybe somewhat awkward. Before my fathers passing we had to deal with his illness from day to day and hoping the following day would bring relief and comfort to this man who at one time was bigger, stronger and smarter then most men I have met. My dad was a tough man to get along with when I was growing up and he was from the old school of hard knocks a straight shooter with no time for bullshit. Dad was a proud man and a constant provider for our family and never leaving his family to want for anything. He was born in the year 1929 a Bronx boy who was working full time by age 14. His very first job at age 14 was delivering ice to families on the lower east side of Manhattan. People back then did not have refrigerators they all had an ice box located in the kitchen, his salary to deliver ice was 3 dollars a day cash money in the hand. Their kitchen table was a bathtub that would be covered with a piece of plywood. Yes, their bathtub was located right there in the kitchen. The toilet was located outside in the hall and used by all the tenants living on the same floor. My father at the age of 16 had two part time jobs. His day time part time job was driving a Coca-Cola truck and his weekend part time job was setting up bowling pins at Manhattans BOWLMOR LANES at Union City Square.
