My Dad who Crossed Over 6 years ago today, is never far from my thoughts but especially today... I just went outside to get some sun-shine and quickly scanned the sky to see if I could spot a Hawk or Eagle as sometimes we have them overhead. There was nothing but clear blue sky. As I stood taking in some sunshine and drinking my coffee, after about 5 minutes I looked up to see two Hawks Circling overhead straight over my house - after I noticed them, and watched them they made 3 more circles overhead and both headed due east in a straight line and were gone. I wrote the passage below as my fathers eulogy - I take great comfort in knowing that hes watching over me and my brothers and sisters. The Eagle & Hawk are my Spirit Guides and I love to know that I can gaze upon them and feel connected to Grandfather Sky and Mother Earth, and that I am watched over and cared for. DAD Though we will no longer be blessed with you presence... in body Your spirit will soar overhead each day of our lives... You are with each and every one of us... everywhere... at all times... You touched so many lives in your seventy-nine years on this Earth... You changed us forever... Always for the better... Like the Eagle and the Hawk, your spirit is now free... You were always a quiet man... Yet somehow, everyone knew how you felt about them... For those of us who had your unconditional love... We knew it... Little did we know – how in life, you were preparing us... Preparing us to feel your presence after your departure from this physical world... Like the Eagle and the Hawk, you will soar above with a watchful eye... Protecting those you love with fierce dedication, persistence and unwavering loyalty... Traits which you – in your own quiet way, passed on to all of your children... The Eagle and the Hawk soar through the sky, un-noticed... Able to see for many miles, able to detect subtle dangers... This you will do – quietly in the afterlife – as you did in your life... Knowing instinctively, when to alert us to the dangers which lie ahead... And because of your quiet presence while you were with us, you have trained us well... How to sense what you are feeling, thinking, and prepared us to forever have the ability... To hear your voice, and heed your advice for all of our days on this Earth... Dad, you are and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing you and calling you “friend.” You will be especially missed by Mom who loved you so deeply. All of your children and Grandchildren will always have a spot in our hearts that will feel the void... But we will always be able to look up when we see the Hawk know that you are with us... We all love you...
