My Daddy, Marion P. Bell, was severely wounded when taken prisoner - TopicsExpress

My Daddy, Marion P. Bell, was severely wounded when taken prisoner and nearly starved to death when he was liberated. The reason he survived was because he new how to find food. His mother died when he was two and his father abandoned him when he was 10 years old. From that day on he daily had to forage for food to survive. He helped the men survive on the grass and the roots that was growing in the compound. He bartered for more food with the guards. They did not realize they had a Young man from the hills of Tennessee who would sabotage their plans of starving the men in the camps within two weeks. It is true a country boy can survive.
