My Fathers business. Jesus stated in Luke 2:49- ...I must be about my Fathers business. Business here, strangely to me, is not defined from its Greek origin into English in my copy of Strongs Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible, which I use quite extensively. The O.T. definition, from the Hebrew, means occupation. If read from that understanding, Jesus said, ...I must be about my Fathers occupation. How befitting that Jesus, as the incarnate image of the Father on earth would make that statement! We, too, must occupy ourselves until He comes for us by tending to His purpose for us (our occupation as directed by the Spirit) on earth. How do we do this and how do we know what work He has called us to do? The answer is found in John 6:28-29: Then said they unto him (Jesus), What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. To enhance our personal belief in Jesus we must study his word, expose ourselves to preaching and the subsequent moving of His Spirit. Then, BECAUSE we believe, share what we know of Him with others. - Buck.
