My Fellow Muslims, As-Salaam Alay-Kum Reflecting upon Sir Syed Ahmad Khans prudent remark, I hope you will try to set an example in both scholarly pursuits and the practice of Islam. Only then our community will be honored and respected. Honor and respect only comes forth having an immense desire to READ. As Moderate Muslims, living in these turbulent times, we must try hard to understand the spiritual meaning of our Holy Quran verses. Many of us are bereft and display so much of indifference in learning the true meaning of Quranic verses, all owing to the built-in fear instilled in the minds of countless millions of Muslims by the Muslim clergy. Ashfaque Ullah Syed and Muhammad Yunus join me to earnestly request all of our fellow Muslim brothers and sisters to read the recently posted articled titled, “Pursuit of Knowledge” which you can read by visiting the blog “wethemoderatemuslims” Quite convincingly, Ashfaque Saheb has summed up his article by quoting the verse from Surah: Al-Zumar (The Crowds) ~ Chapter 39 – Verse: 18 as follows: Those who listen to the Word and follow the best (meaning) in it: those are the ones whom Allah has guided and those are the ones endued with understanding.
