My Fellow Nerds of Color, Even In the world of superheroes, there is no refuge for we the people darker than blue. Yet another young Black man is dead as we come to the close of this Red Summer that has claimed far too many Black lives already. Salt Lake City police maintain that Darrien Hunt, 22, lunged at officers with a samurai sword and they shot him in defense of their lives, but witnesses on the scene say Hunt was running away when he was shot. Its true Darrien had a sword and its also true he was playing with it, but he had the sword BECAUSE IT WAS FAKE AND HE WAS COSPLAYING WITH IT. Darrien Hunt is biracial and he was raised with his white mother who left his abusive father. His white aunt said in an interview that until now, she dismissed what Darriens mother Susan would say about Darrien having different life experiences due to his skin color as playing the race card. It is the most horrible of tragedies that the dead body of her nephew now serves as evidence of the truth. #Every28Hours
