My Fix-it Man I left the old, dark place and moved into a house where light pored in every window and the smell of new permeated the air. The beautiful home was lacking something, but space was not the issue. I found someone who pointed out the house was missing a fix-it shop. What woman wants that kind of shop? All the tools I need live in a catch-all drawer. If I can’t hammer it or screw it a phone call solves the problem, but this time a simple call wouldn’t do the trick. My repair required 24 hour service. The one I wanted to do the job was the one who wanted a fix-it shop so I agreed to create a space for him. Now it overflows with a mess of manly merchandise waiting to be used. He had what it took to fill that space, and whenever something comes apart I lean on him then praise my personal fix-it man for knowing how to put things back together. (Tomorrow my fix-it man is getting his heart fixed at Mayo.)
