My Friend, the Holy Spirit In 1 Corinthians 2, Paul is speaking - TopicsExpress

My Friend, the Holy Spirit In 1 Corinthians 2, Paul is speaking intimately, lovingly and powerfully about his best friend—the actual living Holy Ghost of Abba Father. Since this chapter is about the Holy Spirit, I want to stop this very second and ask you a life-changing question: “Do you personally know the Holy Spirit? Do you understand He is not a dove or some ethereal “unknown” entity that floats around the earth and occasionally pops in on God’s children to see what they are up to? Have you met Him, spoken to Him, hear His voice when He councils you, disciples you and speaks the personal Words of Jesus into your heart and mind? Do you know Him as your best friend? When Jesus was talking to the Apostles about his death and resurrection, he gave them a promise so precious, so priceless, that it amazes me how many Christians overlook it. Jesus said He would not leave us orphans after He ascends to be with the Father. Our Savior said He will come to us; that Jesus is in the Father, we are in Jesus and Jesus is in us. Think! What is He telling us? Jesus goes on to say that Abba Father will send in His name His own Spirit to earth to abide in the children of God; those who have accepted and will accept His Son. Read John 14: 8-31 (Remember, I told you this would be a deep teaching. One you would have to commit to in order to change your inward emotions and feelings.) Jesus tells His believers that the HELPER, the Holy Spirit who comes in His name will indwell in us as our teacher and the giver of peace. Because of, and due to the Holy Ghost, we will have no reason for our heart to be troubled or for fearfulness. The Holy Spirit is the heart of Abba Father, and Jesus said that the Father is greater than He. (vs. 28) Knowing this, before we go any further into 1 Corinthians, I am going to tell you what the Creator, our Father, and His Son Jesus had to say about the Holy Ghost: He is The Spirit of God. The Spirit of Christ. The spirit of grace, truth, holiness, life, adoption, glory, prophecy; the helper and the Eternal Spirit. He is called by God and joined with the Father and the Son. He is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, creator, and sovereign. In personality He is a teacher, orator, and comforter. He struggles with sinners, helps believers in their times of weakness, can suffer and grieve, and can be physically and spiritual resisted. He convicts men of sin and stirs up their spirits. He conceived Jesus. He speaks through prophets, and all scripture is inspired directly by Him. In those of us who are believers and followers of Jesus, He regenerates, indwells, anoints, baptizes, guides, empowers, sanctifies, bears witness to and of God and Jesus, comforts, gives joy and discernment, bears fruit and freely gives gifts. In the church, He fills believer’s spirits, baptizes with power and authority, appoints leaders, sends out missionaries, comforts the body of Christ and sanctifies Christ’s church. As the Spirit of the Living God, you can sin against Him. Also, as God’s living Spirit, He will gladly illuminate our minds and reveal all things we individually and personally need to know that come from Abba Father. Oh… and one more thing. He is the all-encompassing LOVE of God and our Savior Jesus, and He will NEVER leave those who have given their life to the only Son of God. If you have made it this far, I believe I have given you enough to think and pray about. Blessings, L.
