My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?--which means, My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? 1 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. By oppression and judgment he was taken away. And who can speak of his descendants? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was stricken. Yet it was the LORDs will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand. 2 but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness--for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. 3 For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit, 4 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. 5 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. 6 Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree. 7 ______________ 1Mat 27:46; 2Isa 53:5,6,8,10; 3Rom 4:24,25; 41Pe 3:18; 51Pe 2:24; 62Co 5:21; 7Gal 3:13;
