My Gramp, who I nursed through his final illness and who died as I - TopicsExpress

My Gramp, who I nursed through his final illness and who died as I held him ( I was 17 ) was probably one of the last victims of the second world war. He contracted silicosis from the sand in north African desert. He would never have anything to do with November the 11th. My uncle Bill was a conscientious objector who risked his life every day as a fireman in the London Blitz. So, as a member of the Peace Pledge Union I wear the red and the white poppy to promote the end of all wars. They do tremendous work in schools, please consider getting a white poppy in 2014 along with the red poppy. ppu.org.uk/
