My Grandma loved this one...I miss her! A Waking Dream Let me not breathe, lest, my breath be heard; even as a beautiful melody upon deaf ears. A vibration to the senses, if not mine, then someone’s. Let my shadow fall where no one will be interrupted, so their sunlight can continue; as if forever in the grace of God, or at least, Joy. Let my pain be not the cause of others; as to give a reason to place blame. Even when you point a finger you have three pointing back at the self. Let my happiness come swiftly, if even only minutes at a time; for it to go unnoticed, might be missing the time of my life, or just a time in my life. Let my love be stronger than before. For a crack in the dam that holds love is easily sealed, but a hole constitutes a bigger job. Cover it with more love, not the bitter taste of rejection. Let my reasoning be strong as the root, not the leaf. For the leaf only holds what it needs for the self, and by itself, it will fall. The root can hold the tree, though much smaller. To fall a tree, for those who know, you will not succeed in attacking the root; you must be closer to where the leaves grow. Let my passion be a fire that will not consume me. To free passion unto the mind is to free fire to the earth as if it were dry grass. Set the fire in action; Tis’ much more controlled and yields better results. Let my patience be the force that allows rest. The impatient will toss and turn in sleep; for impatience is the fuel that allows the mind no break. The true virtue of patience is allowing yourself the room to take one step; first as an infant, then as man. The rainbow has all the colors we need, although, not always seen… As so with patience. Even when not conscious, let it be the guide to make all in your sleep that is pleasant, A Waking Dream.
