My Grandmother (on my Moms side) Taught me many lessons in life and we werent close in the traditional sense. She loved me from a distance. She lived in South Texas and my Mom And Dad moved us to Illinois. She loved me by keeping me in her prayers. She loved me in a way that only a Grandmother could love me. She didnt shower me with gifts, she showered me with hugs and kisses. She was the proof that removed all doubt of my Mexican Heritage. She helped deliver me. I was her first Grand child. She always told me I was her favorite. I always loved being at her house and listening to her laugh. She was an awesome cook. I was her most distant grand child. I have always lived more than a thousand miles away but she has always been in my heart. My grandma taught me that love is great when you are in each others presence but no distance can separate a grandmothers love for her grandchildren and family always comes first.
