My Grandpa, Col. William E. Ryan, retired after 53years of active duty in the Army. He was in a Presidential appointment position for several decades and Presidential terns, in charge of War Monuments. As a WW2 and Korean War Veteran, he refused to retire until he was successful in obtaining the funding, plans, location realized for the WW2 Memorial, which was way overdue. In this video he describes the Battle of Colmar Pocket. This is another thing he sucessfully advocated to have his Regiment honored for by the French Government for in the past ten years. His dedication for honoring the bravery of the military in WW2 is his legacy! Hes in his early 90s now, I am so very proud of him and awed by of his accomplishments and service for our country, as well as being a loving Grandparent! I love you Grandpa!
