My Humanity My humanity is the quality and condition of being human. It allows me to be humane in the face of brutality, kind when maliciousness is the order of the day. To be benevolent when as far as the eye can see all that is visible is the malevolence that hate wantonly decrees. I have felt sympathy when no one else seemed to understand, tenderness with those that life has treated hard. To have goodwill even though malice and distrust is expected, be compassionate even when the heart cannot see what is affected. Considerate although, “each man for himself” is thoughtlessly suggested. It made me an empath, feeling in my flesh the pain of others, as if we were all in some way connected.
