My Leadership Essentials (People Edition) 1. Remember who works for who. Your role in Leadership is to support other people, and ensure their success in their role. 2. Your door is open- even when it is closed. If you make time for your team, your team will make time for you- and for each other. 3. Never do what is easy. Always do what is right. Do not breed a Band-Aid culture. Most quick fixes quickly create more problems. Encourage people to take the time to do it right, and do it once. 4. Copy and Paste. Picasso said Great artists steal. Why should your junior team members face the same challenges your senior people did? Teach people to teach each other- constantly. 5. You dont know everything. It is incredibly easy to have group-think when you are the only one in the group. Solicit feedback and encourage dialog to find the best solution.
