My Letter for the Premier today.... Dear Christy Clark, I - TopicsExpress

My Letter for the Premier today.... Dear Christy Clark, I am the mother of three children. Over the last 3 months I have been watching and listening to the back and forth between our government and the BCTF always hopeful that it would all end before school started. Today I am utterly appalled at the fact that our government has squandered away the opportunity for mediation because they refuse to enter into negotions without preconditions that ask teachers to give up what was awarded to them twice by the courts!! How does $335 million on add campaigns against the BCTF fit into the zone of affordibility? What about high paid lawyers and $300 million funneled into private education? I am beyond offended by the offer of $40 a day for my children; I dont want $40 that I will then have to claim back as income affording the government even more tax dollars out of my pocket while my children sit here confused and upset that they cannot return to school because you are on a personal vendetta against all teachers. Your father must be absolutely ashamed of you! Our government and subsequently you are elected officials chosen to represent the voice of the people, well you are not working for the people you are all working against the people and what is the constitutional right of all of our children to quality public education. It is their RIGHT; not a privelege for those who can afford it!!!! As such, I, a member of the public voice which you are supposed to represent am demanding, not asking, demanding that our government return to the table prepared to bring adequate funding for class size and composition and without preconditions! While you are off discussing liquor licensing, our children are suffering. Its appalling! How does the ability to buy and sell wine inter-provincially support my childs learning? Dont allow your personal issues to turn this into an educational disaster; youre already responsible for the environmental disaster in Mount Polley. I hope that this government realizes that all they are accomplishing right now is pissing off the people who vote them in and ruining any chance they may have had at future re-election! I will never vote for the Liberal party again!!!! A very angry parent, Amanda Willumeit I would appreciate an actual reply by you Mrs. Clark, not one of your over-paid cabinet members!
