My Lions game observations: There are many glaring problems with this team. They dont have a chance to correct most of the weaknesses during the season as that they are personnel-based for the most part.Their offensive line is horrible. They need to upgrade the center position immediately after the season. Raiola was undersized as a young player. Hes well overmatched now as a old guy. They cant run-block or pass protect. The running backs are usually hit behind the line of scrimmage and they never get any push. On pass plays the QB is either rushed, sacked or hit. The backs are horrendous. Bell is a nice guy and hard worker but he has no speed and threatens no defenses. Bush? Even when hes healthy he cant run between the tackles. Of course he hasnt really been healthy all year. QB? I like Stafford but he has to try and find a way to overcome the deficiencies of his offensive cohorts.He needs to get more accurate with his passes. He needs to start hitting guys in stride instead of having them break stride on catches. That leads me to the receivers.Aside from Tate the others are playing like crap. Yeah that includes Calvin Johnson in that group. He drops a lot of passes for a guy thats supposed to be elite. Maybe all those hits have made him gun-shy. Ross and Fuller play like the other teams are paying them under the table. None of the receivers other than Tate seem to get any separation. Tight ends? Right now they all should be arrested for stealing money. Lombardi needs to put a credible game plan together. This is a pass tram. He keeps wanting to run the ball but he doesnt have a legitimate runner. The difference between a good coordinator and a bad one was illustrated by the patriots. They knew they couldnt run against the Lions so they game-planned a pass attack. Quick routes and screens completely nullified the Detroit pass rush. Their O-line kept Brady clean all day. They gave him time to pass when he needed it all day long.
