My MRI shows that I have arthritis on the lateral knee (where there is no pain at all), a slight tear in the lateral meniscus, a longer, but still “slight”, tear in the medial meniscus, and two objects (probably shreds from the tears in the meniscus) about 5mm in size “floating” around the knee cap. The good news is that I have choices … YAY! I can have surgery to clean out the floaters and trim the tears, but because the meniscus has already been torn, it’s likely to continue. Or, I can just keep going without the surgery; however, that, too will continue the tearing. So, at some point surgery will be required. The worst case scenario is that it ends up requiring a knee replacement. So … given that I’m not a fan of surgery, I’m going to go with the second choice to see how it goes … no surgery now!!!
