My MSHSL football playoff predictions: (With some opinions) 6A: 3/4 Crossover East Ridge over Eastview. Lakeville South over Roseville. Rosemount over Mounds View. Cretin-Derham Hall over Lakeville North (Blake Banham, Jashon Cornell and Ricardo Johnson have good games.) 5/6 Crossover Prior Lake over Osseo. (Prior Lake benefits from having a Strong Conference) Maple Grove over Minnetonka. (Wouldnt be surprised if Tonka stunned MG, though) Wayzata over Totino-Grace. (Wayzata shows TG what 6A football is about) Eden Prairie over Centennial. (Eden Prairie is the best team in the state). 5A 1-Owatonna over Rochester Mayo. 2-Mankato West over Chaska. 3-Minneapolis Washburn over Apple Valley (AV goes against the states #1 recruit in RB Jeff Jones) 4-Spring Lake Park over Andover. (SLP looks to take advantage of not having TG in their section. Since 06, they have made state 1 time, and only lost to a non-TG team one time in the section playoffs, which was Chisago Lakes in 2006. 5-St. Thomas Academy over Henry Sibley. 6-Rogers over St. Michael-Albertville. (Could be a classic, as Rogers won 38-37 in OT In the last game of the regular season for the Mississippi 8 title) 7-Brainerd over Chisago Lakes. (Could also be a classic, as both teams have their best teams in years. 8-Moorhead over Sartell. (Both teams are playing some good football right now.) 4A 1) Kasson-Mantorville over Stewartville. (K-M beat Stewartville earlier, 22-0) 2) Hutchinson over Waseca. (Hutch won the Wright County, and is the defending champion. Waseca won the South Central) 3) Holy Angels over St. Paul Highland Park. (Maybe the weakest section in 4A) 4) South St. Paul over Hill-Murray. (SSP may be the second best team in 4A). 5) Becker over Delano. (Delano has some size on the line. Becker can run/pass). 6) DeLaSalle over Benilde-St. Margarets 7) Hermantown over Cloquet. (Hermantown won 21-15 earlier) 8) Detroit Lakes over Thief River Falls. 3A Rochester Lourdes over Cannon Falls. (CF is Cinderella after going 2-6 during the regular season. Lourdes won 40-20 earlier.) Glencoe-Silver Lake over Watertown-Mayer. (W-M left the Wright County because they were not competitive. G-SL has dominated MRC teams in the past. G-SL was one of the Wright County teams that dominated W-M. End of story.) Belle Plain over Fairmont. St. Croix Lutheran over Columbia Heights. St. Cloud Cathedral over Pierz. (Could be a good game. Pierz will be able to run against Cathedral. Cathedral will be able to pass against Pierz. New London-Spicer over Annandale. (NL-S may have their best team ever and bean Annandale, 42-38). Esko over Proctor. Proctor won earlier, 22-20. Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton over Pequot Lakes. (PL is another Cinderella, going 3-5 in the regular season.) 2A: Caledonia over Chatfield. (Caledonia has won 5 of the last 6 state 2A titles. Caledonia won 19-18 earlier). Pine Island over Norwood-Young America. Cinderella (NYA) went 1-7 during the regular season). Jackson County Central over Maple River. Maple Lake over Howard Lake-Waverly-Winstead. (ML won earlier, 34-21). Minneota over Paynesville. Holdingford over Ottertail Central. Moose Lake-Willow River over Mesabi East. Hawley over Barnesville. 1A Blooming Prairie over Bethlehem Academy. (BP won earlier, 24-7) Sleepy Eye St. Marys over New Ulm Cathedral (SESM won earlier, 20-14 in 3OT) Adrian over Tracy-Milroy-Balaton (Adrian won earlier, 27-13) Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa over Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity. Dawson-Boyd over Wabasso Upsala-Swanville over Browerville. (USA won earlier, 40-20). Braham over Barnum. Got to admit, I cheated on that, since Braham geat Barnum today, lol. Mahnomen over Red Lake County. Picked Mahnomen BEFORE I saw they won 42-0 today. 9Man Spring Grove over Grand Meadow. (GM won earlier, 12-7). Nicollet over Madelia. (Nicollet won earlier, 21-20.) Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley over Mountain Lake Area. Verndale over Underwood. (Verndale won earlier, 44-13). Dawson-Boyd over Wabasso. Ada-Borup over Waubun. A-B won 17-8 today. Northome-Kelliher over Ely. Kittson County Central over Win-E-Mac.
