My Morning Paper 4th September 2013 Secret Reports “Ankle bracelet probe report may remain secret” The Nassau Guardian, 4th September 2013 Except from this article: “Minister of state for National Security, Keith bell, suggested yesterday the report into the death of a man on the electronic monitoring program in July will assist the government in determining whether to renew the manage ring company’s contract, but indicated that the report will not be made public. Granted the public has a right to know, you do not conduct an investigation in the media, said Bell outside the Churchill Building.” This seems to be the modus operandi of this government, to produce reports at the expense of the people and then keep the findings ‘secret’. There was an issue with the report that was supposed to be prepared by consultants from the UK pertaining to web shop gaming and casino gambling, when questioned about this report the Prime Minister answered “What report?” The full report from the NIB fiasco is still in question as are the reports of the ‘sudden deaths’ of two young men while in police custody. The government has already made it clear that any report/reports produced form the investigation to the alleged abuse at the detention center with no be made public. This government has acknowledged the fact that the public has a right to know but at the same time told said public that they will not be sharing any information with them. To the government, where is the open government that you promised and why do you operate under so much secrecy?
