My Mother, Gertrude Shepard Willey, passed away at 2:30 AM this morning, Friday September 19th 2014. She died in her home under hospice care and surrounded by family. She suffered a pulmonary embolism this past Sunday. She pulled through enough to make it home and have one very good day on Tuesday. I played my guitar late into the night, and I like to think it helped ease her transition. There will be a service in Athens at Lord & Taylor West, 1211 Jimmy Daniel Rd. tomorrow, September 20th. Visitation will be from 12-1 PM and the service will be at 1 PM. Her funeral will be on Monday, September 22nd at Forest Hills Funeral Home and Memorial Park Midtown in Memphis Tennessee. There will be a gathering at the funeral home from 10 to 11 AM and a graveside service at 11 AM.
