My Motorcycle friends will get a laugh out of this - Last night I decided to install my Quickshifter and Rear-sets on the ZX14R. I figured how hard can it be... Very simple wiring etc... First I put the bike on the rear stand so the tire is off the ground for testing later then get all the stupid plastics out of the way which is a royal pain in the ass on the ZX14R. I get the wires all hooked up to the coils and then get a good ground. Install rear-sets and get it all adjusted with GP shifting pattern. Everything is going perfect until I go to test the Quickshifter and it appears to pass all test with the motor off but when I start the bike up and pull in the clutch shift into first and the bike stalls. Well in my research ahead of time I have seen people have issues with shifting etc and the guy I bought it from says yes he blips the throttle a little to prevent it from stalling. So being determined to figure this out I start the bike over and over again and try blipping the throttle every which way I can think of and it stalls every time. I get out the computer and start looking at the instructions again, I email the company and just as I am about to call it quits for the night sitting there in the garage feeling frustrated and thoroughly at a loss as to why this is not working I look over and see the Kickstand is down. I just had to laugh at myself at that point (For those not into motorcycles there is a sensor on the Kickstand so if a a person puts the bike into gear when it is down the bike will shut off) Glad it was an easy fix
