My Music was Mastered.... It was a wonderful day, I went to the Abbey Roads Studio around 10:50 for the 11:00 appointment, Loads of people out side taking Pictures and writing on the wall. I just walked past them and went in the door, to the reception area with loads of photos, signed in and had a seat. There was an unassuming lady dressed like an american on the couch and she and made conversation. She was a manager working with Kris Kristofferson on a rerelease of his work, I told her he was a man I grew up knowing about for he was a Helo pilot in V-nam and wrote his music and even landed a helicopter in Johnny Cashs back yard to get noticed. He was a man I would love to meet…. She said she only worked on the biz side and did not know him, She was amazed that I was in Abbey Roads with my first ever music project, told me to get my face book together and a web page. I gave her a card and then we were asked to go into different areas, she went to the admin side I went to the studio side. I got a coffee and a quick tour of the place by Sean Magee. It was full of equipment, some areas overflowing into the hallways. Pictures and records on every wall. I was asked not to take photos of the common area, and the Studio when it was in session. We sat and went over the CD Thomas gave me to Master and is system was fantastic. here was even a machine to make LPs he show it to me, it had a microscope on it and you can see the detail of a record it was unmarked recording of David Bowie he was working on. I basically sat as Sean adjusted his knobs and pushed levers and set levels, he told me he had to dissociate himself with the music and only hear the sounds and he had worked in that room for 19+ years and knew that room sound and setup. We went over all the tracks to include all the mixes without vocals to get the sharp sounds and make it playable for radio. He said that Thomas did a outstanding job, and made his work easy. After that we had a listen to the recordings and that is where he showed his aficionado side and started to tap his foot and said what is love moved him. He also said he was not much of a musician and appreciated those that are. He told me some crazy stories from the past of quirky people/artist and asked about me, he was a genuine person who has seen so many great musicians. He took a few of my cards, he also looked at the Kandahar tag book and said it was outstanding better than Banksys stuff and I gave him some postcards. I was encouraged to contact him in a few weeks to go over the sounds and after Thomas had a listen of his work . I walked out and some young kids were writing on the wall I was given a pen by one and I wrote JT was here… I walked to the local pub had a Pint and fish and chips… Still a bit serial at the moment, and we will see what I do next.. I wish I could get a with Kris Kristofferson group and tour with him.. I may look into that today. JT
