My Oncologist just returned my call!! He said, Yes, my tumor has shrunk, and that is just looking at it, and comparing it, to my last 2 regular, chest x-rays. Not even a CT Scan, yet. He said its shrunk from 1.9 cm to 0.9 cm!! He said its considerable, and that it looks like the Xalcori (drug) is doing what they hoped it would do!!! He is moving my CT Scan up to the week of June 16th, instead of July 1st, since the Specialist recommends earlier, rather than later. The Specialist said that most of the shrinkage occurs within the first few months, of being on the drug. Hopefully, I will be able to continue on the with the drug, for a couple more months, and the tumor will shrink some more, before I have to start radiation, along with chemo! Ive been on it now for a month! The shrinkage of the tumor will make it easier to set-up the radiation regimen, and make it somewhat less impactive, on my body, overall. With Gods help, the radiation and chemo will eradicate the cancer, completely, overtime!! I feel so blessed to be given this opportunity to be able to try this very new, drug, to try and shrink the tumor, before I get into the radiation & chemo.
