My Question: Tanong lang sa lahat ng mga Bossing natin dito sa Sagupaan Breeding & Conditioning Tips...Ano po ba ang basehan natin mga kasabong sa tinatawag nilang Quality at Stability ng mga Bloodlines and How we justify that So Called Names of our fighting cocks Bloodlines? Is it really depends on the Names or Trade Marks or Is it How we deeply engage in our Passion?being a Sabungeros and Breeders of our own gamefowls, explain & express it through your own opinion, experiences on how we truly understand about the meaning. Thanks in advance... Answer from Jeff Pamintuan: As a breeder, it all runs down to the winningest and the easiest to breed. Quality wise, the so called names are just fancy ornaments to the so called rating. Of course, u also have to maintain these lines in order for u to uplift the price of ur precious stocks. But it is always a trial and error method. That is the fun in breeding. Building your own line surpasses everything. Seeing what u have developed as among the top breeds gives utmost contentment. Answer from Gary Deleon: simple lang ang sagot jan....makuntento ka sa kung ano ang meron ka na bloodline na nagpapanalo....hndi masama ang maghangad o mangarap na magkaroon ka pa ng iba...yun e kung sa mabuting paraan mo makukuha...hanggat masaya tayo sa pagsasabong ok na yun...ika nga:dont get too serious just play the game....... Answer from Roy Woo: Speaking from my short experience in raising gamefowls, I guess you can call a bloodline stable or quality if they have won their fair share (majority) of fights in the biggest competition I guess... I know na an ace chicken ay pwedeng masira ng inde magaling na handler but if that bloodline can win, not only for a big time breeder with hectares and hectares of farm land and all the fancy facilities, but also to a small time breeder that only breeds from his backyard, then it speaks volumes of its quality. Not only that, dapat prepotent yung characteristics nila, meaning lalabas pa rin yung desirable traits nila whether physically or sa fighting style nila at nagpapanalo kahit saan bloodline mo e halo... Still when you talk about bloodlines, parang bagay yan eh, branded ika nga or imported ika nga... And the masses would go for it in the hopes that in the first go, they would produce world beaters right away on their first breeding... Whereas those bloodlines had been developed for years and years by their originators... Pero when you think about it, all these so-called pure bloodlines started from crosses dba e.g. Sweater 5k, Bodlat, Lemon 84 all started from a single ace chicken dba ? One mans cross is another mans pure ika nga... I think karamihan ng mga sabungero ngayon get so caught up and obsessed with bloodlines that it would dictate their breeding program... I know A LOT of these chicken men only breed for names to sell... Heck A lot of them buys chickens and just name them fancy bloodlines and crosses to sell... What would you know if native pala yan na manok pero pinag sabi2x dun sa label na Mel Simms Black daw... E wala namang DNA testing sa manok... That is the sad part of what is happening to the gamefowl industry today with the onset of Social Networking and the Internet... They buy these expensive trios, dont even fight them, and sell them based on their fancy names... If sa aso pa, yung tinatawag na Puppymills d bale yung quality o paano pinapalaki or nagpapanalo bah bsta pure lang... Ano yung palagi nating naririnig or nababasa parang na program yung pag iisip natin na if makakuha tayo nun instant success na tayo sa larangan ng sabong... Keep it mind for a 100 sabungeros, only 1 or 2 really succeeds... Unless you have money to burn and you can just collect and dispose. Inde tayo lahat na sabungero mayayaman eh. Pinaghirapan natin yun pera natin eh ang mahal pa naman mga manok ngayon... Yung isang pullet na pure is worth or more than a professional mans monthly salary sa Pinas... Personally, my preference in chickens have changed in a short amount of time of just 3 years... Dati obsessed ako ky Abello at Blackwater kasi yun palagi naririning ko eh. Most successful tandem daw at yung Sweaters nila most decorated bloodline daw... Syempre as a beginner, I was obsessed with it! Frustrated ako kasi I dont have the financial capability to acquire directly ( even now that I am an OFW, I dont go for fowls with ridiculous prices!)... I forgot the joy of breeding our own chopsuey fowl in the first place that would give me so much joy pag nananalo lang sa hack fight... Nowadays, I find more gratification as a small-time backyard breeder in breeding my own bloodlines, my own creation of crosses that started from an Asil fowl because walang kapalit sa sense of pride and gratification pag nananalo ka eh kasi sariling gawa mo yun... You are the ORIGINATOR of your own line ika nga... If you buy an imported/expensive trio, you fought the F1s and won, would it give you the same gratification knowing that you are just replicating the same line from the original breeder? Personally, I dont think so. Anyways my two cents worth of opinion and personal views from a small-time, start-from-scratch sabungero... Peace out! (Pakidagdagan naman po at share ang mga thoughts and ideas natin patungkol sa topic na ito, tnx. Just for all of Us!) (Y)
