My RBI Friend from Coimbatore shared these links Thanks Bala! The Ghazal is written by Faiz Ahmed Faiz, and it is recited by the legendary Zohra Sehgal (1912-2014). I am told it was recorded in Feb 2014, just a few months before the demise of this fabulous artiste, in July 2014. For those who may not know, Faiz was a Lt Col in the British Indian Army, who resigned from his military service soon after the Kashmir war began in 1948. The meanings of the lyrics are given on the clip. The total duration of the clip is a mere 1.57 minutes.
