My Radio Caroline shipmate Richard Jackson just posted this on FB. I too was on board the Ross Revenge during this storm, of which you can see our enormous mast swinging around on the video Dennis Jason shot. And a day later, we were taken off and sailed past the Communicator from Laser. Their antenna had come down; ours hadnt (or at least not yet, it would happen later in 1987). I am today in Harwich and Walton-on-the-Naze, celebrating 50 years of Radio Caroline with some former collegues. Happy birthday, Radio Caroline!
