My Review of Gravity Gravity boast an A list cast of two, - TopicsExpress

My Review of Gravity Gravity boast an A list cast of two, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. The film received 10 Academy Award nominations, which has left me scratching my head as to why. The major nominations are for best picture, best director, and best actress. A few of the other nominations include best special effects, best cinematography, and best original score. I absolutely fail to see why this film has garnered so many accolades. This has to be one of the most overhyped movies in the annals of filmmaking. The Great Gatsby and Lone Survivor were both infinitely better. The Academy of Motion Pictures is either packed with morons, or your neighborhood pusher needs to get a handle on what it is the members of the Academy are smoking! Lone Survivor leaves this film so far in the dust you cant make out who it is in the rearview mirror, and it didnt receive a single nod. The subject bias on the part of the Academy in nominating Gravity for the top spots, while completely ignoring Lone Survivor, is so glaring that anyone with an IQ above plant life couldnt miss it. Best picture? In a parallel universe maybe. Best actress? While Sandra Bullock does an a good job in her role, the nomination for best actress only reflects our increasing satisfaction with low expectations. Best director? I saw nothing to warrant consideration in this category. Best original score? Ive already forgotten it. The categories where it might actually have a chance would be for best special effects and cinematography. In order to find the storyline even remotely believable, one has to enter a world devoid of logic or any sense of science. Its a renter at best. If I were you, I would wait until it comes out on Redbox so that you dont drop more than a buck 50. I give it a C+ if only for the special effects and cinematography.
