My Review on Ambareesha (Kannada Film) Please note : I request you people to read this review completely as I would atleast try to make this more entertaining than the film itself. “Khel Khatam-Khel Khatam” these 2 words are a part of the title song/dialog medley whatever you would call it. Khel Khatam means “GAME OVER”. Yes it is KHEL KHATAM for Ambareesha and I wholeheartedly congratulate the great director/producer Shri Shri Shri Mahesh Sukhadhare for making such an illogical, senseless and atrocious film. The film boasts about having made Rs. 21 Crore before the release thats it. Its only about making money, another 3 days later the team will hold a success party saying the film was the biggest blockbuster in KFI. Its not the story with this film only, it happens with almost all the films nowadays. The real villain of Ambareesha is the great director Shri Shri Shri Mahesh Sukhadhare. Boss only 1 film of yours till now which was good was “Sambhrama”. Sainika, Saarvabhowma and now Ambareesha all are bad films. Shri Shri Shri Mahesh Sukhadhare seems to have taken the audience and Challenging Star Darshan’s fans for granted. What do you think? Are we bunch of fools? No logic at all, complete crap throughout the film. Making a COMMERCIAL FILM also is an ART and it is not your cup of tea. The concept of “Real-Estate Mafia” could’ve been shown in a much more gripping/effective way. Historical leader / founder of Bengaluru Shri Kempegowda’s presence in the film, he motivates/inspires/possesses Ambaresha to destroy the mafia. Really OMG thats brilliant and the way its been shown on screen will definitely make you feel that watching “CHOTA BHEEM” would be better than this one. Brief about the plot : Ambareesha is a daily wage worker at a construction site and is a leader of all the workers there. The owner of this construction company is a good/ethical man but is facing problems of Land Mafia. Priya Mani the owner’s granddaughter enters the scene and then all the drama starts. Rachita Ram is Drashan’s love interest and Priya Mani sacks Drashan fromthe job as she is jealous. Drashan decides to do his own construction business and Priya Mani falls into a ditch which is cleverly planned by the politicians/land mafia dons just to challenge the Challenging star. What happens next??? How does Priya Mani come out of this? How does Darshan alias Ambareesha alias Kempegowda manage to win over the land mafia. Challenging Star Darshan does what he is best at; fights and dialogs that please mass audience and his huge fan base. No variety whatsoever other than the slight performance variation as a devotee of Lord Raghavendra Swamy. Priya Mani is the one to watch out for, she has given an excellent performance which reminds you of Ramya Krishna (Neelambari) in ‘Padayappa’. Her encounters with Darshan are worth watching. Rachita Ram as the lover girl is cute and her chemistry with Darshan is great. Rebel Star Ambarish plays Shri Kempegowda (founder of Bengaluru). He justifies his role. But a very short screen presence with 1 song and 2 scenes might disappoint the fans. Other than Sharath Lohithaswa, Raghava Uday none of the villains give an impressive performance. Ravi Kale is wasted, Kelly Dorjee looks like he is drunk/drugged throughout the film, you can hardly see his eyes open, but his voice dubbing artist (probably the BIGG BOSS season-1 narrator) has done a brilliant job. The comedy track of Bullet Prakash and Sadhu Kokila can be ignored, nothing great. The computer graphic work is average, 1 can clearly make out that the portions of Kelly Dorjee in Malaysia is CG, its badly done. Even the other CG effects are not upto the mark. Dialogs to some extent are good especially the encounters between Priya and Darshan. Cinematography is good but editing takes a back seat. So many portions could’ve been trimmed /chopped off which bores the audience to death, they really test the patience of audience. Music by V Harikrishna is decent. ‘Kannale Bachidala’ is awesome and all the other tracks are not upto the mark/might appeal to the front benchers. ‘Asaku Pusaku’ was being compared to the yesteryear’s superhit “chali chali talenu ee chaliya” (Ambarish and Ambika).....Please don’t insult such a good song and the lyrics of asaku pusaku is vulgar. The background score is atrocious (ding ding naka naka, ding ding naka naka), its all outdated crap, the real drums and your ear drums would tear apart. Action sequences by Ravi Varma have nothing new or worth mentioning. Everything is overly exaggerated. Flaws/weak points in the film : 1. Firstly, the film team thinks its a tribute to Shri Kempegowda, but its an insult, cos the way the film has been shown nonsensically on screen with a million illogical scenes. 2. I pity Ambarish sir, to have given the permission to use this title, for eg., Sudeep’s ‘Vishnuvardhana’ was excellently entertaining, n Ambareesha will make you sleep. 3. The Mantralaya portion definitely tests your patience as it drags you to death. 4. The flashback sequences happen/transition is not smooth; a normal audience would fail to register them properly. 5. Priya Mani using 1000 rupee notes as tissue papers to wipe off her sweat and insulting rupees against dollars.....LMAO....acche din aane wale hain, USD my a**. 6. Nothing is believable or even shown properly. Its an insult to audience intellect. 7. “Esha Ambareesha” song/dialog medley is not shown effectively and is a complete misfit. 8. This film disappoints not only the fans of Darshan but also the fanatics. 9. The film’s duration/length is 2 hours and 35 minutes, the 1st 35-40 minutes in quite engaging, the rest is waste. 10. A million fights and atleast 3-4 of the fight sequences were not required, just bcos you have Darshan you can’t show him as a WWF wrestler, give me a break. 11. The climax will make you laugh to death, what an illogical, atrocious and crappy sequence. Watching this film is a biggest challenge . My rating : 1.5/5. 1 romantic song, Priya Mani’s acting thats it. A movie which will insult your intellect, it can challenge even the commercial violent Telugu movies and Darshan sir a humble request please do not get carried away by just the synopsis/story listen to the entire story/screenplay and accept your offers. Shri Shri Shri Mahesh Sukhadhare saaarrrr dodda namaskaara......”KHEL KHATAM”. I would not watch this film on TV also. My condolences to the distributors/ exhibitors/ audience/ fans/ fanatics/TV channel who took the rights. Only God can save you. Shri Kempegowdre RIP.
