My SBK Coventry to Baginton Sherbourne river navigation to lunt - TopicsExpress

My SBK Coventry to Baginton Sherbourne river navigation to lunt fort, home to the 14th Roman legion ( the fort reconstructed by Royal Army Engineers). The series of pictures takes you down stream with the river current to a weir and a water mill from roman times. The deep water pool also has a SBK landing point. Look at the water in the pictures and you will sometimes see white water that indicates rocks breaking or close to the water surface. Reading the water tells you if you have to dismount in shallow water or not. I know the river well and so I know the doggy bits. I wear a pair of fishing waders. Once through the river tunnel there are no paths or landing places until the weir. The pictures of the weir are from the other side of the SBK approach with the current. I have a SBK campsite in the area where the water mill used to be, as I have found old 13 th century foundation stones which can also be seen bottom right in the weir picture. I want to use the weir to generate electricity and have in mind collecting the white water fall in a big builders bag used to contain sand and fit a valve at the bottom to release the water from the bag at pressure and through an attached hose to drive a electric generator. To date I have not found such a generator on the market. 300 or so meters from the last picture the river sherbourne meets the river sow which provides a big SBK pool area and from there 500 meters to lunt wood that goes up the hill to the fort. Trees obscure seeing the fort.
