My SS is $850. This is based on survivor benefits from a man who worked 20 years with Rocket Dine as a chemical engineer for their water purification, had his own temporary work service in Tulsa, and paid up the ying in taxes all those years, BUT did not work the 5 years before getting his SS,, and so we got the minimum.. it is $200 MORE as survivor benefits than he got by himself. How is this surviving?? and no one hires after 55-60. So for about 5 years, many have to live in their cars, their friends attics or basements or garages, or live with family if they have it. This is not the American Dream.. This is not what we worked for and paid for.
