My Spring Break Hit “Send” for my last email on Wednesday. Loaded my things into the car and headed east. The rain followed me to Queenstown, then realized I wasn’t having it and stayed behind. Chipotle in Easton at the half-way mark — I KNEW they were supposed to give you more meat than they do in the city! Beautiful classical music and fascinating stories on NPR as I drove past acres and acres of farmland. I am embraced by open sky, and signs for “Frederick Douglass’ birthplace” and “Harriet Tubman Highway” remind me that this profound sense of freedom was extremely hard-won. The front desk clerk said “We have you in a south view room.” I said “I don’t drive three hours for a south view room.” My 12th floor oceanfront suite was immaculate.
