My Stomach is in knots. We are back from TN. Now...to pack up again and head to MN this weekend. Charlie has his 2 year post Second BMT appointments. That sounds so strange. He will undergo sedation in the O.R. We will do a complete dressing change, pictures of his skin, skin biopsies, lab draws, endoscopy, dilatation, MRI, oh....and the procedure I fear most....8 tooth extractions. I am trying to imagine how a dental surgeon is going to possibly extract teeth. Charlies mouth only opens about an inch. His mouth is also a mucous membrane. That means that it is just as fragile as the rest of his skin. How are they going to remove teeth without shearing his lips, face, and tongue? I know this is necessary. Charlie is like a shark. He has 2 rows of teeth. They need to come out, but this Mama is losing sleep over this thought of possible additional pain. EB truly affects every single possible aspect of the human body.
