My TBT and Happy Caleb Oliver GOTCHA DAY! A year ago TODAY on New Years Day, I made arrangements to visit Poodle Rescue Houston, who had taken in a group of Yorkies rescued from a breeder situation. I had made a call to the Director Guinnette the day before and she told me they had one left and I was welcomed to come for a visit. Little did I know, the one left was Caleb Oliver. He had been adopted and returned a couple of times due to being afraid and not the touchy, feely little boy that his other adopters expected. Caleb did not know or understand humans so he would have to be adopted by someone that was willing to give him the chance at life he deserved. I sat in their play yard for two hours trying to learn some of his behaviors and personality but knew within minutes, I wasnt leaving without him. It took a couple of months to earn Caleb Olivers trust and to show him that this was his furever family. He was not being returned or given up on again. After the loss of Fireman Beckett, I told myself I would never have another Yorkie. But to this day, I swear he whispered in Caleb Olivers ears to take care of mommy! I love you to the moon and back, Caleb Oliver. HAPPY GOTCHA DAY
