My Take: Politics is simply a conversation, it is only - TopicsExpress

My Take: Politics is simply a conversation, it is only tangentially related to what government does- listening and exchanging ideas about what a group wants to do, the process of deciding things IS POLITICS. What government & the elected officials do in office IS NOT POLITICS- that is governing the agency of government. people are not governed- the Rule of Law encourages us to govern and rule ourselves. I highly recommend you watch, its not long, its actually entertaining and the Youtube stars did a better job at interviewing than any news outlet I have seen in the past 45 years. No political agenda at work, no attempt to put words in his mouth that he did not say- excellent- useful most especially for people who think Politics is something different from what it actually is, let me explain. Politics is simply a conversation-period. Politics is not an argument- thats arguing or debating, looking to win an argument, everybody loses. Politics is not refusing to listen or place words in anothers mouth, nor is it name calling and blame-staking- that is domination and hostility- NOT POLITICS AT ALL. Once the conversation is had, agreement is reached the group goes about doing what they decided. Once the political process is done- we vote and all voters, and most particularly the 66% that dont vote ELECTS A NEW GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL...who is no longer a politician- NOW they are government officials responsible to us. Those who voted against the winner still elected the winner. Those who did not vote still elected the winner. The voters whose voted for the candidate DID NOT ELECT THE WINNER, THE PROCESS MEANS ALL ELIGIBLE VOTERS ELECTED THE WINNERS- 9TH GRADE CIVICS CLASS. After the election is over, as we continue to have political discussions among ourselves about what elected government officials are doing and engage officials with petitions, phone calls, snail-mail to officials and emails, & encouraging our friends to do the same, Government will respond to that pressure of continuous engagement. This is actually 1000 times more effective than rallies or protests IN THE STREETS. IF THOSE PROTESTING in the streets ARE PEACEFUL, THEY DO PUBLICLY EXPOSE A SERIOUS PROBLEM THAT THOSE SEEKING OFFICE WILL DISCUSS, & THOSE OFFICIALS DIRECTING THE ACTIONS & BEHAVIOR of government SHOULD WANT TO ADDRESS, BECAUSE IF PEOPLE FEEL STRONG ENOUGH TO, leave the comfort and company of family, spend hours, days and weeks GATHERING IN THE STREET, MAKE PLACARDS AND CHANT- THERE IS A FIRE BURIED UNDER THAT SMOKE. OFFICIALS WHO TRY TO SHUT DOWN PUBLIC ASSEMBLY & FREE SPEECH with harsh police tactics, plant police officers in disguise, saboteurs to make it look like protesters are violent to justify military tactics against those peacefully assembled on public property, those officials SHOULD BE DRUMMED OUT OF OFFICE. Militarized police response wearing full face masks aiming guns, ready to shoot against peaceful protesters is excessive force- dozens of #LEOs aiming loaded AR-15s at people with their hands in the air should be a crime. Finally, President #Obama and the interviewers did an excellent job- thank you sir for doing this Youtube interview....rgj
