My Tangkhul brethren,it is with a sad heart that I convey my sincere condolences to the family of Late Ngalangzar Malue who was assassinated by unidentified gunmen at Finch Corner on the 12th of July 2014. It is late I acknowledge, but it is not out of contempt or anything that condolences have been delayed. I wish to let you all know that killing as a means of resolving a conflict is regrettable. It cannot be condoned. Have we for one moment though,reflected to think upon the repercussions that have taken place in Ukhrul district?Yes we are not happy with the killing of any individual but are we to compromise on the safety of the entire Tangkhul community just because of one individuals murder? Read my words carefully,for I say that any killing as a means of resolving a difference is regrettable. But we should not throw our weights entirely on a persons death while the rest of the citizens start living in fear,tension and apprehension of violence. Manipur state governments military has a proven track record of being vicious ruthless killers, especially the Commandos and IRB personnel. It has also come to light that the killer commando who led the gang of personnel that assassinated Major Shimreingam Shaiza is one of the main players who are for militarization of Ukhrul town and terrorizing the public, and is currently stationed in Ukhrul District Headquarters. He seems to be calling the shots amongst the police personnel from behind the screen even though there are far superior officers present and stationed here. With killers such as Krishnatombi roaming freely in and around Ukhrul District Headquarters, would you be bold enough to say you are free of any mental tension and apprehension? I do not think so. Each and every police commando, IRB and MR personnel is trigger happy and itching for a gunfight, and so each and every one of you will notice that all their guns are cocked and off the safety latch. Most of our people do not know the nature of guns-when it is cocked and loaded or when it isnt, and that is why they roam free with the evil intention of shooting at a slight instance of trouble while the public are oblivious to the dangers present at every turn. Honorable(even though they are not) Chief Minister Ibobi and Home Minister Gaikhangam has hatched a devious plan that has been set into motion with the murder of Ngalangzar Malue. With the government having been changed at the centre (Congress to BJP), they have both been stepping on a tricky path to contain internal dissent all the while trying to maintain a façade of proper self governance to the new BJP led NDA government at the centre. The state government is most apprehensive that their party is on a path of falling out and therefore is fulfilling each and every wish of the opposition. I am not against the Meitei community or any other for that matter, we are only against the communal forces that are driving the government in the state of Manipur. Should not our people support and join the fight against these communal forces? I on my personal end, am appealing to each and every one of you to rise up above your own egoistic differences, village differences, individual differences, locality and family differences to join us in our fight to remove communal forces that is currently pulling the reigns in the state and right now in Ukhrul District. Join and support the sustained campaign against communal forces spearheaded by the Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) until our goals of a safe and equal society free of communal forces are achieved.
