My #Tiramisu recipe is not for those who made weight loss - TopicsExpress

My #Tiramisu recipe is not for those who made weight loss resolutions for the New Year! Everything in moderation; so rich and delicious just a sliver will give you the fix you need. Ive been making this Tiramisu since 2002; I took some classic tiramisu recipes added heavy cream whipped into the mascarpone cheese and Kahlua to make it my own. Traditional tiramisu is made in a square or rectangle pan, I make this one in a round springform pan for a nice presentation. Using pre-made packaged lady-finger cookies, this is a simple no-bake #recipe – here it is! 2 cups freshly brewed espresso or strong coffee 2 tablespoons sugar ¼ cup Kahlua (coffee liqueur 1 large package lady finger cookies 4 egg yolks ½ cup sugar 1 cup heavy or whipping cream 16 ounces mascarpone cheese ¼ cup cocoa for dusting In a medium bowl mix the hot coffee with 2 tablespoons sugar and the Kahlua, allow to cool in the refrigerator while you make the filling. Combine egg yolks and ½ cup sugar in a medium bowl and whip until smooth and the egg yolks lighten in color. Add the heavy cream and continue to mix until thickened. Add the mascarpone cheese and mix until combined. In a springform pan, line the sides with whole lady fingers briefly dipped in the cooled coffee mixture. Next cover the bottom of the pan with dipped ladyfingers (you will need to break them into pieces to cover completely. Spoon ½ of the filling mixture on top of the ladyfingers; spreading the filling evenly with a rubber spatula. Repeat another layer of dipped ladyfingers on top of the filling and top with the remaining cheese filling, spreading evenly. Allow the cake to chill for at least 4 hours or overnight. Dust the top of the cake with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate curls or chocolate covered coffee beans. #Baking #homemade #mascarpone #Kahlua
